At the University of Waterloo

Entrepreneurship and Education

"The roots of a creative society are in basic education. The sheer volume of facts to be digested by the students of today leaves little time for a deeper interrogation of their moral worth.  The result has been a generation of technicians rather than visionaries, each one taking a career rather than an idea seriously.  The answer must be reform in our education methods so that students are encouraged to ask about "know-why" as well as "know-how".  Once the arts are retored to a more central role in educational institutions, there could be a tremendous unleasing of creative energy in other disciplines too."

Higgins, Michael D.- former Irish Minister for Arts, Culture and Gaeltacht

"The important thing is not to stop questioning.

Curiosity has its own reason for existing.”

Albert Einstein

Feedback DOES matter...

And while I except all manner of feedback what matters

most is that which is thoughtful, honest and offers either an opportunity to improve OR to celebrate.

"I’ll start by saying this course was by far the best. I don’t want to speak badly about the other business courses as it is not an issue with the professors per se as many of them are great orators and have a lot of interesting insight to give; but the issue lies in the course setup."   Mike

"I’ve been told that success can be measured by the number of uncomfortable conversations one is willing to have. So I wanted to face my discomfort of cold emailing people that have inspired me. I want to thank-you for spearheading the introduction to entrepreneurship course at Waterloo."  Lenny
